Elbit Systems UK

Elbit Systems UK Limited, part of Elbit Systems, is a private company registered in England in 2004 with its registered office in Bristol. It is wholly owned by Elbit Systems Ltd and, according to the company, employs more than 650 people at 15 sites in the United Kingdom. Its subsidiaries include UAV Tactical Systems (UTACS) in Leicester, the electro-optics company Instro Precision in Sandwich, Kent, and UAV Engines in Shenstone, Staffordshire.

The company supplies the British Army, the Royal Navy and the Royal Air Force. Its programmes include the Royal Navy’s MEWSIC electronic warfare programme, the Dismounted Joint Fires Integrator target acquisition programme and synthetic training systems such as the Joint Fires Synthetic Trainer. Its wider activities cover air and space, land and naval systems, cyber, training and simulation.

In unmanned systems Elbit Systems UK has supplied the THOR and Magni-X uncrewed aircraft to the British Army; the Magni-X micro UAS contract with the UK Ministry of Defence was announced in January 2023. In 2022 the Ministry of Defence selected the company to deliver five swarms of six VTOL uncrewed aircraft each for the British Army’s Robotics and Autonomous Systems project, managed through the Torch-X RAS command and control system. In January 2026 Elbit Systems UK completed the full acquisition of UTACS, which it plans to develop into a British and regional hub for the design, development and support of uncrewed aircraft systems for European and NATO customers.
