Rheinmetall Nordic

Rheinmetall Nordic AS is part of the Global Business unit in the Digital Systems division of the Rheinmetall Group. Its main office is in Skoppum, Norway, with a branch in Stockholm, Sweden. The company supplies 81 mm and 120 mm mortar systems, observation and target acquisition units, Vingmate fire control systems, weapon accessories and mounts.

Rheinmetall Nordic hosts one of the Advanced Land Autonomy Centres of Excellence (ALACOE) that Rheinmetall announced in March 2025 alongside centres in Germany and the United Kingdom and an expanded facility in Canada. It is Rheinmetall’s focal point for the development, integration and application of autonomous and uncrewed ground systems in the Nordic region.

The centre’s work includes experimentation and field testing, integration of sensors and payloads, and adapting autonomous functions to Nordic terrain, doctrine and national force structures. It acts as a single point of contact for land autonomy across the capability lifecycle and is part of an international network of such centres within Rheinmetall.
