Reconnaissance drone Wingcopter 262: six hours of flight time and 150 kilometres of tactical range
Wingcopter is launching a reconnaissance drone for defence and security with the electric eVTOL Wingcopter 262. The aircraft is designed to operate without launch infrastructure and to navigate without GNSS; Wingcopter is also cooperating with TAF Industries.

With the Wingcopter 262, Wingcopter is presenting an electric reconnaissance drone that targets defence and security users with its long tactical range and flight time. The modular fixed-wing aircraft takes off and lands vertically (eVTOL), has a tactical range of 150 kilometres and stays airborne for up to six hours.
The system’s main field of application is therefore reconnaissance missions at great operational depth: it is designed to reach distant areas of operations and monitor them over longer periods. No launch infrastructure is required, and a single person can make the aircraft ready for use within a few minutes. The Wingcopter 262 is also designed for integration into the open architectures of existing battle management systems.

“More than ten years of experience in the development, production and operation of unmanned aircraft systems have gone into the development of the Wingcopter 262. Its resilient navigation capabilities enable the aircraft to operate even in environments without global navigation satellite system (GNSS) availability”— Wingcopter in a press release
On board are AI-supported electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) camera systems, along with data and video links and positioning technology – components that have proven themselves under real operational conditions in Ukraine.
New reconnaissance drone for the Security & Defence business unit
A few months before the market launch, the company had created the Wingcopter Security & Defence business unit. This adds defence and security applications to its existing activities in logistics and surveying – now complemented by the Wingcopter 262 as a platform developed specifically for tactical reconnaissance missions. As part of the “Build with Ukraine” initiative, Wingcopter is also working with TAF Industries: on the mass production of Ukrainian reconnaissance drones and on making the Wingcopter 262 available to Ukraine.
