Unmanned ground vehicles: Quantum Systems and Daimler Truck network trucks with Mosaic
Daimler Truck lorries are to interact with drones and other systems via the Mosaic software. The MoU with Quantum Systems targets convoys, teleoperated driving and unmanned ground vehicles in military logistics.

Quantum Systems and Daimler Truck have agreed close cooperation in a memorandum of understanding (MoU). The focus is on unmanned air and land systems for military operations – including unmanned ground vehicles.
Information from the air and land systems is to converge in Quantum Systems' Mosaic software. By integrating its vehicles into it, Daimler Truck improves the situational picture – and with it the protection of the people involved. A Mercedes-Benz Arocs already integrated into Mosaic is currently on display at the military conference Log.Net 2026 in Koblenz.
For autonomous logistics systems, Quantum Systems has a clear and ambitious development roadmap with the Mosaic Ground Autonomy Kit. It starts with so-called leader-follower operations: a manned vehicle leads a convoy of several unmanned lorries.
The kit already masters teleoperated driving today. This allows vehicles to be used even in high-risk zones without operators having to leave a safe distance.
The developers deliberately designed the system to be open to different platforms: it fits various vehicle fleets and is not tied to any particular manufacturer. Because the Mosaic Ground Autonomy Kit can be retrofitted, existing vehicles are also eligible. In this way, armed forces can equip their logistics fleets with autonomous functions step by step and introduce the technology in a scalable manner.
By integrating our vehicles into Mosaic, we will in future be able to network them seamlessly with other ground-based systems and unmanned aerial systems. In doing so, we are developing our trucks into semi-autonomous and unmanned vehicle platforms.— Daniel Zittel, Head of Defence Sales, Daimler Truck AG
Unmanned ground vehicles in series: partners for the defence strategy
Daimler Truck is one of the world's largest commercial vehicle manufacturers and is able to produce military vehicle solutions in large numbers. In future, unmanned vehicles are also to be available on an industrially scalable basis. To this end, the group combines its own development and production expertise with the technological competence of specialised partners and start-ups. Such cooperation with technology partners is a core element of Daimler Truck's defence strategy: it is intended to bring new capabilities into the vehicles reliably and quickly.
Strengthening Europe's technological sovereignty
Autonomy in military logistics means multiplying the operational performance of modern armed forces— Hendrik Kramer, Vice President Ground Domain at Quantum Systems
By combining proven vehicle platforms with our operationally tested Autonomy Kit, we enable armed forces to move supplies even in contested areas of operation with fewer personnel, greater resilience and full integration into existing command structures.— Hendrik Kramer
Strategically, the partnership extends beyond the cooperation itself and concerns both Germany and Europe. It strengthens competences in automotive engineering, autonomy and AI, which are considered key technologies in the defence sector. The partners also want to reduce technological dependencies and build resilient supply chains for security-relevant capabilities and production.
