Unmanned systems networked: Quantum Systems and Destinus link reconnaissance and effectors via Mosaic UXS
Networking reconnaissance and effects for unmanned systems even over long distances, without taking the decision out of human hands: that is the goal of the strategic partnership Quantum Systems and Destinus have entered into.

A strategic partnership now links Quantum Systems and Destinus: reconnaissance, mission coordination and effectors are to be integrated into a common operational framework so that the unmanned systems of both sides work together. Specifically, the aim is to connect Quantum Systems' reconnaissance systems and its Mosaic UXS software platform to Destinus' scalable effectors.
The resulting architecture is designed to be open, vendor-independent and under European leadership. It is to network reconnaissance systems, data exchange and scalable effectors; the result is to be coordinated unmanned reconnaissance and strike operations.
Quantum Systems is to couple its reconnaissance systems, including Mosaic UXS, directly with Destinus' technology and merge both into a common workflow. If real-time data flows directly to Destinus' effectors, decisions and reactions are expected to be much faster – especially in complex operational environments.
Together, Quantum Systems and Destinus are addressing a critical capability gap in Europe […] By connecting our solutions with Destinus' effectors via MOSAIC UXS, we are creating the basis for networking sensors and effectors even over long distances.— Martin Karkour, Chief Revenue Officer of Quantum Systems
Unmanned systems under human control
The data captured by reconnaissance systems is processed and distributed via MOSAIC UXS and then made available to the effectors. The architecture is compatible with national command systems as well as with those of NATO. Both companies stressed that humans decide on the use of weapons at all times.
The cooperation is based on an open, vendor-neutral approach: systems from different suppliers can thus be operated in a common environment. This gives armed forces and defence organisations the scope to combine precisely those technologies that meet their requirements. A Quantum Systems press release states: "The cooperation responds to the growing need in Europe for faster and more reliable integration of reconnaissance and effector systems".
Europe needs an end-to-end sensor-to-shooter system architecture that can be scaled industrially […] This partnership links reconnaissance data with effectors while ensuring that decision-making authority remains within existing command structures.— Wouter Van Beek, Chief Commercial Officer of Destinus
