Über Temet

Temet is a Finnish company based in Helsinki that develops and manufactures equipment for hardened protective shelters. It was founded in 1953 and has worked under the Finnish civil defence shelter regulations since they were first introduced. International business is handled by Temet International Oy Ltd, and the group operates as Temet Group Oy. According to the company, its equipment has been installed in more than 50,000 shelters in over 85 countries, and it names civil defence authorities, defence organisations, public infrastructure operators and industry as its customer groups.

The product range covers blast doors and hatches, blast valves and dampers, gastight closing valves, sealed wall sleeves for cables and pipes, ground shock isolation and CBRN filtration units with filters, pre-filters and overpressure meters. For longer stays in sealed shelters Temet offers a regenerative CO₂ removal system and an oxygen supply unit. The company states that its blast valves are rated from 2 to 100 bar and refers to the international shelter standard ISO 22359.

Temet lists governments and defence as one of its target segments. Its filtration units and pre-filters are specified for civil defence and military shelters, and its oxygen supply unit is intended for military command posts and operational shelters. The company also supplies blast protection for command and control centres, ammunition storage and other military structures, and provides support for the design, construction, modernisation and conversion of shelters.
