Sobre Rheinmetall Canada
Rheinmetall Canada Inc., part of the Rheinmetall Group, is a systems engineering and integration company headquartered in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, with an office in Ottawa and a facility in Edmonton. It traces its origins to Oerlikon Aerospace, founded in 1986, and employs nearly 400 people across Quebec, Ontario and Alberta. According to the company, about 60 per cent of its business is with the Canadian Department of National Defence.
In robotics the company develops the Mission Master family of autonomous uncrewed ground vehicles, guided by Rheinmetall’s PATH autonomy kit. The family includes the Mission Master SP and XT and, shown in Canada for the first time at CANSEC 2026, the amphibious Mission Master SP2 and the Mission Master XT2 arctic edition. As prime contractor, Rheinmetall Canada supplied Mission Master SP vehicles in surveillance, cargo and fire support configurations to the British Army’s Robotic Platoon Vehicles programme.
Its wider portfolio covers vehicle systems such as the HX truck family, the MASS softkill decoy system for Halifax-class frigates, Fieldranger remote weapon stations, soldier systems, command and control software and air defence. The Ottawa-based autonomy specialist Provectus Robotics Solutions has been a subsidiary since 2019.
