Reconnaissance drone Vector: Quantum Systems supplies Romania's Ministry of Defence
Romania is receiving Vector systems from Quantum Systems via the agency Romtehnica S.A. The contract worth around 18.4 million euros runs for 36 months – according to the manufacturer, quality and price were decisive for the reconnaissance drone.

The Romanian Ministry of Defence (MoD) is procuring the Vector reconnaissance drone: as Quantum Systems announced, the company has received a major order to supply these unmanned aircraft systems (UAS). The contract was signed back in mid-May; it is worth approximately 18.4 million euros and runs for 36 months.
The order was placed by the procurement agency Romtehnica S.A. The systems are intended to improve the UAS capabilities of the Romanian Armed Forces.
Sven Kruck, CRO of Quantum Systems, commented: “We are proud to have been selected by the Romanian Ministry of Defence to provide the Romanian Armed Forces with our advanced Vector UAS. Our cooperation with Romania is a significant milestone in our mission to support global defence initiatives with reliable and efficient unmanned aircraft solutions.”
Why the reconnaissance drone won the contract
According to the company, quality was the main focus of the award. The decisive factors for the Vector UAS were therefore its long range, flight autonomy, the quality of its sensors and robust warranty terms, combined with competitive pricing.
The Vector takes off and lands vertically and is a commercially available tactical reconnaissance system. It provides precise reconnaissance and stays airborne for up to three hours. The integrated “Raptor” combined sensor unites an optical and an infrared camera – enabling missions by day and night in all climate zones and even under difficult environmental conditions.
